Fall Foliage on the Community Forest

Each season has its unique qualities. Fall, of course, has its stunning foliage colors, which are just now near peak on the lower elevations of the Randolph Community Forest.

Coos County Democrat reporter and former Randolph Community Forest Commission member Edith Tucker took these photos on Saturday, Oct. 4, on a drive to the Pond of Safety on Pond of Safety Road from Jefferson.

The road is passable with a vehicle that has good clearance. Edith told us, “The road has gotten  a little bony with some hard rainstorms, but I put my Subaru Forester in low and moved slowly through the dips of water bars without trouble. I walked down the new very short path down to the Pond and also stopped at the big mown field with the spectacular view of Mts. Madison and Adams. The color is beautiful!”

Whether you’re on foot, on mountain bike, or driving, we hope you get out and enjoy fall on the Community Forest!
